Find here 11 questions/answers regarding CBD covered in brief:

1. WHAT IS CBD?

It is a cannabinoid found in cannabis, one of hundreds of others, all of which have their own importance.

The endocannabinoid system (a communication system present in all human and animal brains) is responsible for the communication between the various organs of the body and the brain.

CBD chemical structure

By stimulating the CB1 and CB2 receptors present in our brain, CBD therefore improves the functioning of our metabolism.

Cannabinoids are chemically pre-designed to act specifically on these cannabis receptors in our brain and are molecularly small enough to act in our body and be naturally eliminated by our immune system (urine, perspiration).

2. WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF CBD?

CBD is a non-addictive substance; it acts directly on neurological receptors linked to pain, distress, and anxiety.

CBD also attenuates the psychoactive effects of THC.

According to numerous studies, an improvement in health has been demonstrated in people who have consumed CBD.

Caution! CBD is not a miracle substance; if you have health issues, consult your doctor first.

Depending on the varieties consumed, one may feel a sensation of renewed energy and increased focus.

Most products found on the market will provide a sensation of relaxation and calm that promotes sleep if consumed in the evening.

3. HOW TO CONSUME CBD?

The most effective are oils, capsules, resin for vaping, crystals, and isolate powder, preferably for food use. For something milder, there are dried flowers that can be infused or vaporized. There are also products mixed directly with tea or other aromatic plants.

New arrivals: CBD candies and chocolates straight from the United States with pure cannabis oil, in pure extraction within "vape cartridges" to screw onto all "vape batteries".

Also, you will soon find in our collection homeopathic pearls, each containing 5mg of pure CBD enriched with natural terpenes, which provides a range of solutions for numerous needs during our days and our nights.

You can also find CBD oil massages in some shops, or even artisanal CBD sausages; this is only the beginning for the legal cannabis industry.

Here are some tips for consuming CBD safely:

  1. Start with low doses: It is important to start with low doses and increase them gradually until you find the dose that suits your body.

  2. Follow the manufacturer's instructions: Follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding the amount of CBD to take and the frequency of use.

  3. Avoid mixing CBD with alcohol or other drugs: Avoid mixing CBD with alcohol or other drugs, as this can affect the effect of CBD on your body.

  4. Check the quality of the product: Buy CBD products from trusted manufacturers and check that the products are tested by third parties for quality and purity.

  5. Consult your doctor before taking CBD: If you are taking medication or suffer from an illness, consult your doctor before taking CBD.

It is important to remember that CBD is not a universal cure and its effects may vary from one person to another. When in doubt, it is recommended to consult a healthcare professional.

 4.IS CBD LEGAL?

You are undoubtedly wondering whether CBD is legal or not in France. As we know, cannabis containing a THC level greater than 0.3% is illegal in France as it is considered a narcotic. However, CBD is not considered a narcotic in the eyes of the government, but there are restrictions that must be regulated.

Even if CBD is legal in France, you must know how to use it with caution. Saliva tests carried out by law enforcement in France are ill-suited to recent laws and will disadvantage you during the test; at that precise moment, and provided you have only consumed CBD for more than 3 months, you will be able to contest the result of the saliva test and have the right to request a blood or urine "counter-test" in order to prove the legality of your consumption and, above all, not lose your license unnecessarily.

In order to guarantee the test results, we recommend that you stop consuming all products containing CBD or THC, even at levels of 0.3%.

5. WHAT ARE CANNABINOIDS?

Cannabis sativa L., commonly called hemp, contains more than 100 different cannabinoids, which are natural chemical compounds that interact with the human body's endocannabinoid system. The most studied and well-known cannabinoids are delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and cannabidiol (CBD).

cannabinoid chart

THC is the main psychoactive compound in cannabis, responsible for the "euphoric" or "stoned" effect felt after consuming cannabis. It can also cause undesirable side effects such as anxiety, paranoia, and tachycardia.

CBD, on the other hand, has no psychoactive effect and has been associated with many beneficial health effects, such as the reduction of inflammation, anxiety, and pain. It is currently being studied for its potential in the treatment of various conditions, notably epilepsy, schizophrenia, and chronic pain.

Other cannabinoids present in cannabis include cannabigerol (CBG), cannabinol (CBN), and cannabichromene (CBC), which all have different effects on the body and are currently being studied for their therapeutic potential.

However, it is important to note that the use of cannabis and its cannabinoids for medical or recreational purposes can have undesirable side effects and should be discussed with a qualified healthcare professional.

6.WHAT ARE TRICHOMES?

These are growths in the form of hairs that line the surface of a cannabis plant, flowers, leaves, etc. They have numerous functions for protecting the plant and regulating temperature.

CBD trichomes

Trichomes are resinous in nature, and it is inside them that vitamins, cannabinoids (CBD), and terpenes (e.g., limonene/lemon scent, which also possesses benefits) are synthesized.

It is thanks to the trichomes that Cannabis Sativa L. possesses the majority of these virtues and tantalizing scents so highly appreciated.

7. WHAT IS CBD HASH?

CBD hash, also known as CBD hashish, is a hemp resin concentrate obtained from the hemp plant. Unlike cannabis hash, CBD hash does not contain THC, or at least in quantities lower than the 0.3% authorized by law in most countries.

CBD hash is produced by sieving the flowers and leaves of the hemp plant to extract the pollen, which is then compressed into blocks or pieces. This production method may vary by geographical region, but the objective is always to concentrate the resin to obtain a product richer in CBD.

CBD hash is generally consumed by smoking it, whether by mixing it with tobacco or using a CBD vaporizer. Some consumers also prefer to consume it in the form of edible hashish, such as in baked goods or infused drinks.

It is important to note that the consumption of CBD hash may have different effects depending on the individual, but generally the effects are not psychotropic because THC is present in very low or non-existent quantities. Effects can vary depending on the dose, quality, and method of consumption, and may include sensations of relaxation, well-being, or pain relief.

In summary, CBD hash is a hemp resin concentrate rich in CBD that can be consumed in different ways. It is important to take precautions when consuming it and to understand the potential effects it may have on the user. As CBD is legal in most countries, CBD hash is a legal and natural alternative for those looking to enjoy the benefits of CBD.

8. WHAT IS A CANNABIS SATIVA L CONCENTRATE?

There are many types of concentrates that take multiple forms, obtained through two main extraction methods:

  • WITH SOLVENTS (BHO, wax, tinctures, live resin)
  • WITHOUT SOLVENTS, meaning heated and pressed, e.g.: (kief, hashish, charas, bubble hash, rosin tech)

The term concentrate is very broad and includes many forms: oil, vape wax, tinctures, resins.

They all contain a high level of cannabinoids such as CBD, CBG, etc.

9. IS CBD DANGEROUS FOR OUR CHILDREN?

No! Some children even need it more than anyone else, like Charlotte, a little girl from Colorado suffering from Dravet syndrome, a very rare form of childhood epilepsy, which caused her to suffer from intense seizures, sometimes lasting for hours.

In 2013, Charlotte's story made headlines around the world.

After having taken countless medications and suffering up to 300 epileptic seizures per week, Charlotte and her parents finally found relief in the form of a CBD-rich cannabis extract now known as Charlotte’s Web angel.

Today, very few studies have been carried out on this subject; in France, the legislation prohibits the consumption of CBD by minors, and in any case, inquire with your doctor before making any decisions.

CONSUMING CBD BEFORE DRIVING?

By providing some consumers with a sensation of well-being, CBD can induce drowsiness in them. Thus, they may feel a sensation of sleepiness and fatigue, so their vigilance risks being impaired.

In this case, they must under no circumstances get behind the wheel.

CBD while driving risks and dangers

Furthermore, for many consumers, CBD influences driving safety by changing the mental state. This occurs through the increase of anandamide and GABA levels present within the brain. This causes strong relaxation and a decrease in excitability. Obviously, these effects are not intoxicating, but they do indeed alter the mood. Thus, CBD will not directly impair your driving, but rather your mood, which can affect the way you drive.

Also, you do not just risk a road accident by driving under the influence of CBD. In fact, it is also possible for you to test positive for cannabis, notably due to the presence of THC.

So, you risk having legal problems, because the consumption of cannabis is illegal. In this case, you risk having your driver's license revoked.

Therefore, even if it is not certain that you will feel the effects of CBD, it is preferable not to drive after taking this substance. So, whether you plan to drive a car, a motorcycle, or any other vehicle under the influence of CBD, refrain from doing so.

10. IS CBD DANGEROUS DURING PREGNANCY?

It is currently impossible to make a statement on the subject. Despite their numerous studies, scientists have not succeeded in ruling out the risk of complications during pregnancy in the event of CBD consumption. This is, moreover, easily understandable, as women have several ways to ingest this substance, and the presence of THC cannot be ruled out.

In reality, CBD is and remains a rather unclear subject on many points. It is true that its effectiveness for the treatment of diseases and pain is well-proven. However, is it therefore appropriate to consume it while carrying a baby?

When in doubt, Sweet CBD France advises against consuming it during pregnancy.

11.HOW TO INFUSE HEMP FLOWERS?

The active ingredients of Cannabis Sativa L are liposoluble, meaning they can mix with lipids (fats). You can therefore make a herbal tea in whole milk, as it contains approximately 36 g of lipids per liter. In order to increase this milk fat content, it is possible to add a little butter, fresh cream, or even vegetable oil, such as coconut oil or cocoa butter which is neutral in taste.

The more lipids the mixture contains, the more easily the cannabinoids will be extracted!

If you want to mask the vegetal taste of cannabis, you can add cocoa, vanilla, cinnamon, coffee, or any other herb or spice of your choice.

A recipe? We suggest hot chocolate infused with CBD and vanilla!

1) Reduce the Cannabis Sativa L to a very fine powder using a grinder.

2) Heat the milk in a bain-marie, add the coconut oil, the split vanilla pods, and the Cannabis Sativa L.

3) Simmer for 60 to 120 minutes, stirring regularly, and ensuring the milk does not boil (risk of spilling over). This long step is necessary not only for the extraction of the cannabinoids but also for their decarboxylation, that is to say, their transformation from their acid form (THCA, CBDA...) to their active form (THC, CBD). An infusion that has not been heated long enough will therefore produce fewer effects.

4) Let cool, and filter using a small strainer. Squeeze the remains well in order to recover all the fats containing the cannabinoids.

5) Finally, add the cocoa powder and mix. You can of course reheat the result (in the microwave or over very low heat) if you prefer to drink it hot. Cannabis-infused drinks can be kept for a few days in the refrigerator, for example in a clearly labeled milk bottle (be careful with children!!).

Enjoy your drink!
